Framing!

I thought I felt Amish yesterday, today we finished framing the whole house! (There are actually still a few finishing touches but it's close) It still feels incredible to me that we started with a pile of wood yesterday and today the interior walls are up. One special moment today was when Sarah stopped by. We worked on the beginning of her house last year and now we have a small crew over there to help finish up the work. She is very excited and hopes to move in this summer.

We made it through the day injury free! That's not to say there weren't some sore muscles this morning. There are a few sunburned faces tonight although some are red from shouting at the Blackhawks game. There is a tv here which as a rule we do not watch, we make an exception for playoff games!

Sometimes it seems that we eat more than we work. Meatloaf and mashed potatoes may seem like a strange meal for May, but not when you spend the day out working in the sun.  Jan and Marie finished off their amazing dinner with a beautiful AND delicious dessert of trifle. Mike just shouted over to me, "tell them to come for the food and stay for the work!"

I've put the word out to the rest of the crew here to write some reflections for the blog. Hopefully we'll start hearing from them tomorrow. Most of the pictures again tonight are from John.  I've thrown in a few of my own.

More tomorrow...

Our work never ends! Someone just accused us
of being sports reporters for the game. We do look a little bit
like press row!
